Now in its 32nd year, Jackson Storyfest is set to begin Oct. 16 and
culminate in the annual finale event at the Michigan Theatre 7:30 PM
Oct. 18. This three-day event brings talented and famous storytellers to
Jackson from the all over the Midwest and beyond. The following
storytellers will be featured in schools all over Jackson County: Jean

The stories get started with preschool storytelling sessions. Families
will gather to participate in preschool story sessions at the Carnegie
Library. This event is open to the public, and all families are welcome
to attend. Leading the children in a whimsical performance will be Karen
Bonnici, a masterful storyteller and musician who combines her unique
repertoire of tales and songs to teach, encourage, and tickle the funny
bone.
October 17, Jackson 10:00 a.m.
Continuing the storytelling celebration will be “Gemini” – twin brothers
San and Laz Slomovits – performing for the Jackson area’s older adults.
Packaged especially for older adults, the “Silver Tales for the Young
at Heart” is hosted at the Sharp Museum, 3225 Fourth St, and all are
welcome.

Thursday and Friday, school districts will welcome storytellers from all
over Michigan into their classrooms to enlighten, inspire and bring to
